Te Ahik膩roa Subject regulations
The Te Ara Hou Te Ahik膩roa (TA) - Graduate Diploma in Teaching is available for the M膩ori immersion secondary sector for students who have completed a bachelors degree and who wish to gain a professional teaching qualification, as well as non graduates with some educational qualifications, work experience or relevant workplace experience.
Recognition of prior learning will be required.
This programme will be delivered as an Employment-Based Initial Teacher Education (EBITE) programme in 2023, to be completed in 2024.

TA This is a two year professional qualification delivered in te reo M膩ori with a focus on tikanga M膩ori and m膩tauranga M膩ori. It comprises papers examining issues related to teaching specialist learning areas of the curriculum, in particular 笔奴迟补颈补辞 and 笔腻ngarau, learners and learning, and the professional issues facing teachers in classroom, school and community situations. The programme includes two professional experience placements.
The qualification regulations define the requirements for the Te Ara Hou Te Ahik膩roa. To complete the TA, students must complete TOITU400, PUTOI400, PUTOI421, PUTOI422, PUTOI423, PUTOI424, PUTOI425, NGAIO420, and NGAIO421.
