This paper aims to extend student understanding of key concepts, principles and methods relevant to M膩ori environmental management. Students who complete this paper will be expected to show an understanding or M膩ori perspectives on environmental management and be aware of the diversity within the M膩ori world. The paper has a focus on M膩ori and the Resource Management Act (RMA) and provides students with an understanding of co-management, partnership and collaboration with hap奴 and iwi in contemporary environmental management. Students will be expected to demonstrate communication skills necessary to facilitate M膩ori environmental planning.
